About Cristian Luna
A West Grove native and Avon Grove High School graduate, Luna is running to bring a new generation’s perspective in service to his neighbors in Southern Chester County.
“The choices being made at the state level not only impact our current residents but their children and grandchildren. Now is the time for new leadership that is not only thinking about the present but bringing innovative solutions for a strong future in Southern Chester County,” Luna said. “I’m running to protect the community that we call home and ensure that it is safe, vibrant, accessible, and affordable now and for generations to come.”
Professionally, Luna serves domestic violence victims toward safety through the legal process. He currently serves as a Deputy Prothonotary in the Chester County Prothonotary’s office, maintaining Protection from Abuse cases, and previously served as a bilingual Legal Advocate with the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. Luna wants to bring high-quality, compassionate and accessible service to all constituents in the Southern Chester County but especially for those that feel left behind by their government.
A strong advocate for the Chester Water Authority, Luna sees protecting affordable water as a priority once elected to the state legislature. Luna believes that we all deserve access to clean, safe, and affordable drinking water and the Chester Water Authority has been providing this life-sustaining service to our community. Luna would fight and advocate for the Chester Water Authority. Our current representative has voted for legislation such as Act 12 which led to the efforts of the dangerous privatization of our water system and raise the rates for Pennsylvania families. Luna would bring new, forward-thinking leadership that will protect our neighbors’ hard-earned money with their votes in Harrisburg.
Representing a community with a storied agricultural history, Luna wants to protect small local farms from threats including climate change. Agriculture and farming is the heart of our community and as a previous mushroom farm worker Luna would use his experience to support our local farms. The impacts of climate change are wreaking havoc on our farms and Luna would be a representative that would seek solutions to address the problems. Luna understands the necessity it is to preserve our open spaces and protect our vulnerable animal population. Luna would take meaningful action to save our small community farms.
Some of Luna’s other priorities include fully and fairly funding public education for our students, defending the freedom to vote, and protecting and expanding healthcare access.
The 13th legislative district encompasses communities in Southern Chester County including Oxford and West Grove Boroughs, East Nottingham, Elk, Franklin, Highland, London Britain, Londonderry, London Grove, Lower Oxford, New London, Penn, Upper Oxford, West Fallowfield, and West Nottingham Townships.
